Alon Moscovitch - President and Owner of Shelley's Stereo

Alon has been working at Shelleys since 1987

As a young man, Alon was looking for some part time work and tried to get a job at Shelleys Stereo. Like our employees, who also love music, great movies, and entertainment technology, Alon thought it would be fun to work at Shelleys. Well, they turned him down, initially, and told him to come back after he had learned a thing or two about our industry and its products. It was then that he decided to learn all he could about our entertainment equipment and system designs.

Well, he did. And Shelleys finally offered him the job he wanted, but starting at the bottom, as a warehouse clerk (not exactly what he was looking for). That was a long time ago, in 1987.

Today, Alon is the proud owner of Shelleys Stereo. He really did learn a thing or two, and the previous owners insisted upon him buying the business when they retired in 2001. Over these many years since his start at Shelleys Stereo, Alon has never stopped learning, reviewing, listening and watching, and experiencing for himself, what each Brand name and their products had to offer. He is an expert in audio acoustics, and speaker nuances, and our customers are always delighted as he explains the differences between one TV and another.

Alon truly wants to make his customers happy, and takes personal delight in having each client experience what Shelleys Stereo and Video has to offer. Together with his staff, he works hard to assure that our services and products become a source of great and lasting pleasure and pride for the many families who have come to trust over our many years in business. A few years ago, Alon began to think up ways to thank his customers and our community for its continued support and patronage for so many years. The result was our popular "Movies in the Park" summer series of movies.

Bill Kivinski - Store Manager, Sales Consultant, and System Designer

Bill has been working at Shelleys since 1989

Bill studied both architecture and engineering throughout his educational years. That education and his sensibilities for good interior design are of much benefit to our clientele today. Music too, has always been a central theme in Bill's life. A drummer at age 5, his love and passion for music remains as strong today as ever. Bill actually started his career in the home entertainment electronics industry back in 1971, while still in high school. His interest in comparing the differences between live music and hi-fidelity recorded music eventually led him from what started out as a hobby, to his professional interest in the accurate reproduction of recorded music. And this, in time, led to his professional career and his present position with Shelley's Stereo.

Throughout his many years in our industry, Bill has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, to the factories and training facilities of many of the brand products that Shelley's Stereo sells today. You may rely upon his expertise and you won't be disappointed with his advice.

An avid Jimmy Buffett fan, Bill and his wife are members of Los Angeles Parrot Head Club which both celebrates the music of Jimmy Buffett and practices the charitable lifestyle of Mr. Buffett. Since 2005, Bill and his family have helped raise in excess of 10 million dollars for national and local charities, while donating 1000's of hours of their time for these charitable fund raising events.

Lorin Fogel - Project Manager, Design Consultant

Lorin has been working at Shelleys since 1999.

Lorin became interested in entertainment home electronics at a young age. As a young boy growing up in Southern California, he enjoyed visiting his neighborhood hi-fi stores with his dad on weekends. He was particularly captivated by the dark sound rooms illuminated solely by the glowing meters on most audio equipment in use then.

After graduating with a BA degree from U.C.L.A. in 1982, Lorin took a summer job at The Federated Group. The 80's were an exciting time for the consumer electronics industry. It was the advent of the introduction of the Walkman, Compact Disc Player, Laser Disc Player, VCR, Portable Video Camera, Projection TV, Personal Computer, Home Video Game Consoles, and much more. Lorin was swept up by this home entertainment revolution and his professional career was at its start. Lorin remains just as passionate about our industry today. Although he still enjoys playing with his legacy electronics of the 1980's, he is also equally excited by the enjoyment of entertainment content that modern day digital products make possible.

Lorin is also a specialist in automated system controls and is presently our lead systems designer for smart automated homes powered by Control4. His work for our clients now also includes the design of "green" energy efficient homes.

Lorin has been married to his lovely wife Cheryl for over 15 years, whom he met at The Federated Group. They are very proud of their son, Nicholas, who plays lead baritone sax in his high school band.

Stan Zeiden - Sales Consultant, Turntable Specialist, Electronics Repair Technician

Stan has been working at Shelleys since 1993

Growing up before the birth of rock n roll, Stan was a musician and played trombone, and was a member of his high school orchestra. He also dabbled with the piano, as a second instrument. His love of music led to his interest in recorded sound, and what made the "vinyl" records he played then, sound better.

Stan has an intuitive and educated understanding of electronics, along with considerable technical abilities. In fact, he was burdened and nudged by all his friends through his young adult years, to shop with them when they needed a new record turntable, cartridge, or speakers. That practice continued, even while Stan worked as a technician at the Packard-Bell Space and Missiles Division during the late 1950's.

Beginning in the early 1960's, Stan worked as a recording engineer at several Hollywood recording studios, and also had great experiences recording live music at many local clubs, into the wee hours of the morning.

Today, Stan is an expert Linn turntable specialist on LP-12 and other well respected Linn turntables. He receives telephone calls from all over the country asking him to fix old, but valuable turntables of many other brands as well. Today, with the resurgence of interest in re-mastered vinyl, Stan's popularity with some of our audiophile customers is as big as ever. If you've got an old turntable in your garage that you are thinking of fixing, you won't find a better place than Shelley's Stereo to do it, thanks to Stan.

As an interesting side note, Stan built model planes for the US government from 1942 to the end of World War II. These models were used in the field to help identify enemy or friendly planes as they flew by. It was then that Stan also developed his love of flying. Stan still flies airplanes today. But not the models he built as a kid. Stan is a licensed pilot in good standing and flies all kinds of single engine Cessna's and Piper-Cherokee's, usually on weekends, out of Whiteman Airport.

So, if you want "real" experience, instead of someone trying to sell you something they know nothing about, Stan is your man!
